At the Absecon Lighthouse

Offered on Wednesdays through July and August,
11 am to 3 pm.  Includes snacks, games, crafts & stories.  Even though school’s out, there’s never been a better time to learn something new at Absecon Lighthouse!

$10 admission fee for children includes all activities and a climb of New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse.  Adults $5.

The Myths of Mermaids

Create your own mermaid crown. Decorate a door hanger for your own room. Enjoy a puppet show about the original Little Mermaid.

The Prizes of Pirates

Discover the fact and fiction of the pirates that sailed the sea, with special recognition given to pirates rumored to have spent time in New Jersey.  Make your own treasure map bookmark, decorate a yummy fish cookie, and test your knowledge with a game of pirate

The Search for Sea life

Explore the world below the ocean waves.  Meet a real sea star.  Play the food chain game to discover if you are the predator or the prey.  Create a one-of-a-kind seascape for your window.

The Virtues of Victorians

Put on your best dress, bring your favorite doll and join us for a Victorian tea party.  Imagine what life was like during the late 1800’s when our lighthouse was built.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 18th

The Secrets of Sailors

Imagine a life on the sea. Communicate with semaphore flags just like a real sailor. Feel the power of the wind as you decorate & fly your very own kite.  Explore the coastline with only lighthouses and constellations as your aids.
